Vintage Reds and Peter ‘Doubles’ Daley Pair Up for Fundraising Initiative

Fans will have the opportunity to support grassroots and Queensland’s regional rugby initiatives by purchasing a “Doubles” ticket ahead of the five Wallaby Test matches that lead into the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The popular lucky-draw game is back for this World Cup year thanks to the Vintage Reds organisation and QRU life-member Peter ‘Doubles’ Daley, who is believed to have run more “Doubles” contests than any other Rugby administrator in the world.

For a $100 purchase, the ‘contestant’ will receive a “Doubles” ticket for each of the five Wallaby Tests leading into the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The winning entry for each of the five Tests will receive a $1,000 prize, so there are five chances to win $1,000.

Your participation will support the work of The Vintage Reds – the organisation of former Queensland capped players that assists to promote the sport (and the ethos of Rugby).

The Vintage Reds is a resource in support of the Queensland Rugby Union, which connects with the broader rugby community (including schools & clubs) and works closely with the regions. The work of the Vintage Reds is intended to create goodwill within the code and the community, providing positivity in the game of rugby throughout all of Queensland.

This year, the Vintage Reds have visited Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Gladstone and have a further 10 visits to all corners of Queensland planned for later this year.

The Vintage Reds welcome your support and assistance with their on-going rugby community involvements.

Please note, there are 225 tickets per game. [For a $100 purchase, the ‘contestant’ will receive a “Doubles” ticket for each of the five Wallaby Tests leading into the 2019 Rugby World Cup.]

Rules as set out by Peter 'Doubles' Daley.

  • Wallabies will always be the home team (for convenience).
  • First scorers for either side to be by try, penalty goal or drop goal.
  • If first scorer is a penalty try to be paid on 2, the hooker.
  • If first scorer is a reserve, he is deemed to be the number he has replaced.
  • For example, if 10 is replaced and 15 moves to 10 and 17 goes to fullback and scores, it is deemed as 10 scoring.
  • If 15 scores while having moved to 10, it is regarded as 15 scoring.
  • If the match ends nil all, the winner is 2 and 2. Similarly for an abandoned match.
  • The Vintage Reds thank you for your support.
