Morgan Turinui

A clever player who can control a game with his tactical ability and skills, Morgan brought the experience of 65 caps for the Waratahs and 20 caps for the Wallabies to the young Reds backline in 2008. Morgan scored 125 points from 25 tries in his career with the Waratahs, after making his debut in 2003 against the Blues in Sydney. He earned 58 of his 65 caps playing Super Rugby, scoring 100 points from 20 tries.

Morgan made his test debut at the age of 21 in 2003 against Ireland in Perth and later that year was a member of the Wallabies Rugby World Cup squad. Morgan was elevated to the Wallaby vice-captaincy in 2005, finishing the year having played in every one of Australia’s 13 Tests. In 2006 he was recalled to the Wallaby squad for the Spring Tour, captaining Australia A against Scotland A. In 2007 his excellent form in the Mazda Australian Rugby Championship was rewarded with a late callup to the Wallaby World Cup squad, however he did not have the opportunity to play. Made a slow start to his first season with the Reds but hit his stride midway through the competition and earned the captaincy of Australia A in the 2008 Pacific Nations Cup. He was also co-captain with Greg Holmes of the Reds' end of season development tour of Ireland and France.
