Player Bio

A former Nudgee College, Australian Schoolboys and Australian Under 20s captain - Reece Hewat heads into the 2018 season having overcome a range of injury setbacks to realise his dream of becoming a professional Rugby player.

The 20-year-old South African-born back row forward joined the St.George Queensland Reds squad ahead of the 2017 season but spent much of his first year working hard on returning to the field, after suffering a number of injury setbacks in late 2015 and early 2016.

His hard work paid off, when he helped the Queensland U20s to a national title, was named Australian U20s captain for the U20 World Championships, before later making his Reds debut in the last round of the 2017 Super Rugby season.
