Player Bio

Lachlan Maranta joined the St.George Queensland Reds after five years in the National Rugby League with the Brisbane Broncos.

Maranta has been signed predominantly as a fullback, but can also cover wing. While his entire professional career has been in League, Maranta went to school at Rugby nursery St. Joseph’s College – Gregory Terrace and was eager to return to the code.

The 24-year-old has built up plenty of experience in the 13-man code, having played 70 games for the NRL. He was also the Broncos’ leading try scorer in 2015, the last year they made the grand final.

Spent the start of the season re-familiarising himself with the code playing for Wests in Queensland Premier Rugby before finally earning his Super Rugby debut against the Jaguares at Jose Amalfitani Stadium in Buenos Aires. Also featured for McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City in the National Rugby Championship.
