Eight Queenslanders have been named in the Australian Schoolboys side to take on the Fijian President’s XV in the first match of their overseas tour has been named.
Captaining the side is Barker College’s Tom Wilson, the 18-year-old hooker from NSW who earlier this year represented the Australian Schools side against Tonga.
The side also includes Jack Cornelsen, son of former Wallaby Greg Cornelsen, who famously scored four tries in a single Test against the All Blacks.
Jack, a member of the 2012 Queensland Schoolboys side, has been named in the starting second-row pairing, after being brought into the squad as a late injury replacement.
The Australian Schools will meet the Fijian President’s XV on Saturday 22 September, before taking on Fijian Schools on 25 September.
They will then travel to New Zealand to face the New Zealand Barbarians on 29 September, Samoan Schools on 2 October and finally New Zealand Schools on 6 October.
