Son of former Wallaby included in Australian Schools Squad


Brisbane Grammar School product Jack Cornelson, son of former Wallaby great Greg Cornelson has been included in the 28-man Australian Schools squad set to tour Fiji and New Zealand over the coming weeks.

Cornelson along with six other Queensland teammates today assembled at the Redfern National Centre for Indigenous Excellence in preparation for the upcoming tour.

The young Queenslander, has been brought into the squad along with Reece Hodge as injury cover for Lolakai Foketi and Harry Rorke.

The touring squad will depart for Lautoka, Fiji this Wednesday 19 September and will meet the Fijian President’s XV on Saturday 21 September and Fijian Schools on Tuesday 25 September.

The side will then travel to New Zealand to face the New Zealand Barbarians on 29 September, Samoan Schools on 2 October and finally New Zealand Schools on 5 October. 

Earlier this year Australian Schools defeated Tongan Schools 70-13, while Australia A Schools dispatched Tongan Schools 29-5.
