St.George Queensland Reds show strength in numbers

After only 25 days in market, 6,508 members have signed on to support the St.George Queensland Reds in season 2013, which includes a rare Tour Match against The British & Irish Lions in June.
 
A target of 40,000 members has been set for 2013 and the Reds will need as much support as possible throughout what will be a huge season of Rugby when The British & Irish Lions return to Australia for the first time since 2001.
 
The Reds recorded the top membership levels and also the highest average crowd figures across all codes in Queensland in 2012 and were again the benchmark Australian Super Rugby franchise.
 
Strengthened by the loyal support of a record 32,640 members, the Reds achieved the highest average crowd by a Queensland team that plays more than one game at home.  Across all regular season games in 2012, the Reds averaged 34,218 at Suncorp Stadium, up 16% from last year’s regular season. Including the Qualifying Final against the Sharks, the average crowd figure for 2012 rises to 34,479.
 
To accommodate the historic The British & Irish Lions Tour, Reds Members across all categories can choose an eight game Super Rugby membership, or a special nine game membership which includes The Reds v British & Irish Lions Tour match.
 
Becoming a Reds Member also guarantees access to both Wallabies Tests in Brisbane in 2013, against The British & Irish Lions and a TBC southern hemisphere Rugby Championship opponent.
