The St.George Queensland Reds are calling on their Rugby community to show “strength in numbers” and sign up as 2013 Reds Members to support their team throughout what will be a huge year of Rugby in Queensland.
In addition to the Super Rugby competition, the Reds’ 2013 season boasts a historic tour match against The British & Irish Lions at Suncorp Stadium in June as part of the famous northern hemisphere side’s first trip to Australia since 2001.
On the back of a priority renewal period for 2012 members, full season memberships for 2013 have gone on sale today.
Members across all categories can elect to take up an eight game membership for only the Super Rugby fixtures, or choose a special nine game membership which includes The Reds v British & Irish Lions Tour match.
Queensland Rugby anticipates that over 40,000 supporters will sign on for season 2013, in what would be a new membership high for the Super Rugby franchise.
Over 32,640 Members supported the Reds in season 2012 which was a 100 per cent rise in member numbers from 2011’s figures of 15,626.
Becoming a Reds Member also guarantees access to the two Australian Tests in Brisbane next year where the Wallabies will take on the best of the UK’s Rugby talent in the opening British & Irish Lions Test in June and also a Rugby Championship hit-out later in the year against a yet to be announced southern hemisphere opponent.
Members wanting to secure the ultimate Rugby package for 2013 with access to all 11 Reds and Wallabies games in Brisbane should act quickly to secure a “Ruby” season membership for $1195. Visit www.redsmembership.com.au for more information.
Season 2013’s campaign “Through adversity comes strength…strength comes in numbers” again speaks of the Reds ambition and it is also a call to action for supporters to sign on and become members in a show of support and commitment to their team.
Reds skipper James Horwill says Reds Members play a huge role in the success of the St.George Queensland Reds.
"It's a huge honour to play in front of the biggest Australian Super Rugby crowds and it’s something this team never takes for granted,” Horwill said. “The support of our fans on game days can often mean the difference between winning and losing.
"Witnessing the growth of our membership base over the past few years has been a huge motivator for our team and I've got no doubt their ongoing support is a major reason almost our entire squad is choosing to remain together in the long-term.
"I encourage all our loyal and passionate fans to once again show their support by becoming Members, where in 2013 we will again look to reach new heights.
"With an added year of experience under our belts and half of the squad gaining exposure in the national Wallabies program this offseason, we feel our opportunities and potential for 2013 and beyond is limitless.”
Reds Members will be entitled to exclusive members-only merchandise products, including a limited edition t-shirt from flyhalf Quade Cooper, along with regular favourites such as a Reds scarf, cap, sticker, lanyard and membership card plus an official 2013 season guide.
All memberships (see below graph) also include free transportation to and from Suncorp Stadium.
Family Memberships and “Kids Special” packages again offer the best value for supporters in 2013.
Top value is in a Gold Family Membership which consists of two adults and two children for just $645 – with a saving of over $700 as compared to individual tickets purchases, while a Silver Family membership starts at $420.
The “Kids Special” sees one child under the age of 16 go to the game with one adult at a heavily discounted rate. Gold “Kids Special” begins at $325 and Silver “Kids Special” from $210.
The price of the “Forever Red” non-ticketed membership option is confined to 2012 pricing, with the package the perfect choice for regional fans that aren’t able to attend every game but want to show their support as part of the Reds Army, and receive a 10 per cent discount on tickets.
The Reds have introduced a new offering in the “Baby Red” non-ticketed membership option, which for just $30 delivers exclusive Baby Red merchandise, including a Reds beanie and bib, along with a 10 per cent discount on all further Reds merchandise.
Platinum season memberships for all eight Super Rugby games can be secured for $485 while platinum Nine-Game memberships are at $550.
Eight-game Gold Adult memberships are at $310 ($195 for gold concession) while the inclusion of The British & Irish Lions Tour game is $355 ($224 concession).
In the Silver Member option, eight-games can be secured for as little as $200 ($165 for Silver concession) while the nine-game option is at $229 ($189 concession).
