Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team Inc. in association with International Sports Tours is pleased to announce that the Lloyd McDermott Australian Indigenous U17’s 2013 France Tour Fundraising Dinner will be held at The Greek Club in South Brisbane on Wednesday 12 September, 2012.
The Indigenous U17’s are set to become the first Lloyd McDermott Development Team to tour the Northern Hemisphere and the tour will not only give the selected players and management staff a great rugby experience, but will also provide them with a wonderful travel experience full of valuable educational and sightseeing opportunities.
The team will consist of players from the National Indigenous U16’s team which was selected from the Santos National Indigenous U16’s Championships that took place this past weekend at Palm Beach Currumbin on the Gold Coast where North Queensland took out the title after defeating South Queensland 19 – 12 in the final.
Queensland dominated selections in the National side with 13 players named in the 23 man squad which will participate in the Australian Rugby Union’s U16’s National Championships being held in Sydney from 30 September to the 5 October 2012.
The fundraising dinner to be held at the Greek Club in South Brisbane will feature special guest, Andrew Blades, the current Qantas Wallabies Forwards Coach.
The event is proudly sponsored by QAIHIC (Queensland Aboriginal & Islander Health Council) and all profits made will benefit the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team Inc. 2013 France Tour.
