St.George Queensland Reds fans are being given the chance to publicly display their passion for the 2011 Super Rugby champions following the release of specifically-created Queensland Reds personalised plate.
Queensland Rugby and Personalised Plates Queensland (PPQ) unveiled the plates to the public on Wednesday just days before the Reds blockbuster FxPro Super Rugby Qualifying Final against South Africa’s Sharks at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 21 July.
Tickets are now on sale to the Reds v Sharks match through Ticketek - http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=REDSSEMI12.
The release of the plates coincides with the FxPro Super Rugby Final Series to give supporters a further opportunity to profess their love for the team with Reds members already proudly showing off their ‘My Other Family Is The Reds’ sticker throughout 2012.
The Reds personalised plates come at a once off cost of $485 and can feature any available ‘three-letter two-number’ combination or ‘three-letter three-number’ combination.
The new design comes in various sizes while those who already own existing personalised plates can have it restyled to the new Reds design for only $199.
Supporters are encouraged to get creative with their own combinations by including favourite players from the past or present, position numbers or memorable club years.
Reds coach Ewen McKenzie has already embraced the new personalised plates and owns the combination 03 REDS.
“The connection between the Reds team and their fans is a space we spend countless hours on each day and the personalised plates are another opportunity for our supporters to show they are proud of their team,” McKenzie said.
“We are continuing to set new benchmarks in terms of crowd attendances and membership numbers and I’m sure the plates will be a hit amongst all of them, along with our players and staff.”
The Reds personalised plates are expected to be a popular option as hype around the FxPro Super Rugby Finals Series builds while the team’s membership numbers have reached record-breaking numbers in 2012 with the Reds Army surpassing 32,000.
The plates are also a great gift idea with Father’s Day just around the corner.
