Australia top group to set up Quarter-Final date with Wales at Commonwealth Games

Australian Men’s Sevens Head Coach Geraint John said “the day could not have gone any better” after his side beat England, Uganda and Sri Lanka on Day One at the XX Commonwealth Games overnight. Australia will play Wales for a place in the Medal matches at 9.28pm on Sunday evening (AEST) after topping Pool D at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow.

SHANNON PARRY NAMED WALLAROOS CAPTAIN

Brisbane-born Shannon Parry has been named the Wallaroos World Cup captain for next month’s IRB 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup. The 24-year-old dual International will be playing in her second IRB Women’s Rugby World Cup after being a part of the successful Australian side that finished third in 2010.
