In his first full season of BLK Queensland Premier Rugby, Scrumhalf Issak Fines-Leleiwasa inspired his beloved Sunnybank Dragons to the preliminary final and his consistency throughout the year saw him awarded the Alec Evans Medal for player of the year.

A product of The Southport School Rugby nursey, Fines-Leleiwasa formed a lethal combination with flyhalf Jake Strachan back in 2014 that saw the Dragons secure the Premier Colts title. The two playmakers joined forces again in 2016, falling just short to University of Queensland in the preliminary final.
