Born and raised in St.George on the Darling Downs, Maclean Jones has been selected to represent Queensland Country again in 2016 after an impressive first season last year.  

He played for Queensland and Australia at a schoolboy level in 2013 and this year was selected in the Queensland U20s before earning selection for the Australian U20s, competing in the World Rugby U20 Championship in Manchester. Ahead of the junior World Cup in Manchester, Jones captained the Australian U20s in their first ever win over New Zealand at the U20s level at the Gold Coast.


Grandson of former Wallaby Peter Cunningham, Jones returned to the UQ in the final few rounds, helping the Red Heavies to the grand final.
