Referee associations appoint officials to almost all matches run by the Queensland Rugby Union, and most regional, school and junior unions. Benefits of association membership include:

- Increased access to information regarding officiating

1. To obtain your Level 1 accreditation you will need to complete the following:
2. Your regional referee association will review your match performance for development purposes.
3. Once you are registered as a referee you may act as an Assistant Referee and report on game incidents.
5. All referees are required to have a Blue Card or be exempt in terms of Queensland Government Legislation.
